How to play

Shortest: Fewest players in between.

• Link the two players through teammates: each player you name must have played alongside the last one in your chain.
• Use as few players as you can. Par is the fewest needed. Reach a teammate of the target and the chain completes itself.
• You score up to 1,000 points: full marks at par, less the further you are from it.
• A wrong name costs 150 points. Three wrong names end the game.
• Stuck? A club hint (−100) names the next player's club; a player hint (−250) names the player.
• Signed in, every daily is rated: you get an Elo in each mode, and so does every puzzle.

Chains use matches we've rated since 2009/10.
